Unique moments unfold in one of the holiest places on earth, the town of Liska, where heartfelt prayers offered at the grave of the revered tzadik, Rebbe Hershele Lisker zt"l, echo with blessings.

The prayer calls for restoration for the sick, financial blessings for the impoverished, and peace and health for the people of Israel and all people everywhere. Liska holds a distinctive place in Jewish history, as it is here that the Liska Rebbe built a renowned synagogue, recognized as one of the largest in Europe during its era. The vibrant memory of the town and its tzadik resonates within Jewish communities, where many arrive to request blessings in the cherished Kivrei Tzadikim tradition.

Rebbe Hershele Lisker (רבי הערשעלע ליסקער), better known as Zvi Hirsh Friedmann (צבי הירש פרידמאן) and the celebrated author of Ach Pri Tevu'ah (אך פרי תבואה), was a significant Hasidic leader whose teachings remain influential among his followers today. The Rebbe was a disciple of the famous Teitelbaum Moshe zt"l (משה טייטלבוים זצ״ל), also known as the Yismach Moshe (ישמח משה), from whom he gained deep Torah knowledge and chassidic wisdom. The enduring disciple relationship is vibrant in Hasidic communities, notably among Satmar adherents, who pay tribute to the memories of Teitelbaum and Rebbe Hershele Lisker.

In locations like Borough Park, Williamsburg, and throughout Israel, Hasidic communities cherish the town of Liska and hold the Liska Rebbe's merit in the highest esteem. Recognized as one of the key Kivrei Tzadikim locations, the Liska cemetery is a place where prayers are infused with unique strength through the tzadik's merit. On the anniversary of the Rebbe's passing, the yahrzeit (יארצייט), thousands of people make a pilgrimage here to pray and seek blessings for their families and communities.

Through his writings like Ach Pri Tevu'ah (אך פרי תבואה) and Hayoshor veHatov (הישר והטוב), the Liska Rebbe’s spiritual legacy remains a source of inspiration and guidance for Jewish communities around the world. The sacred land of Liska is not just a historical site of miracles and blessings; it remains a place where heartfelt prayers are heard, bringing blessings to all who seek them.
